2022
Hanover, Germany
In cooperation of endboss with the Chair of Urban Planning and Design at the "Leibniz University of Hannover", the "Slova University of Technology Faculty of Architecture and Design" in Bratislava/Slovakia and the "School of Architecture - National Technical University of Athens" in Athens/Greece an international "Summer School" took place in the summer semester 2022. This teaching constellation enabled the students to interdisciplinary work, an examination of Hanover as an urban space and the topics addressed by our conference "You promised me a City".
As part of the international DesignBuild Summerschool, productive urban dissonances were identified during a three-month virtual part of the seminar and then explored with all students in the week before the conference through architectural interventions in the field of tension between language and architecture at all locations in Hanover where the conference took place.
Students from the three universities from different European contexts (Athens, Bratislava and Hanover) worked in international teams, each implemented their own design in the urban space, and in doing so, negotiated different interests through teamwork, a culture of discussion and willingness to cooperate, and presented them during the conference weekend.
endboss curated the Summerschool and accompanied the students during the week before the conference. The seminar attracted great interest among the students, especially due to its connection to the conference, where more than 40 students from all three countries participated.
