For the redesign of the skate park in Bautzen in the Gesundbrunnen district in the fall of 2021, we decided to rearrange the existing asphalt surfaces and thereby reuse the existing material in a circular principle. This allowed us to experiment with the production of a completely new stone and to test a new construction method during the implementation. By cutting, processing and layering the existing material by hand, we created a new staircase as a connecting element within the different areas of the park. In the future, the seating steps can be removed and reinstalled very easily during redesign projects.
